Gold Pivot Point Calculator

    Turn the previous session’s high, low and close into the day’s pivot and three levels of support and resistance. Four methods are included: Standard, Fibonacci, Woodie and Camarilla.

    Pivot Point Calculator

    Calculate pivot points to identify potential support and resistance levels.

    How to use it

    1. Enter the previous day’s high, low and close for XAU/USD.
    2. Choose a method.
    3. Read the pivot (P) with resistance R1 to R3 above it and support S1 to S3 below it.

    The formula

    Standard: P = (H + L + C) ÷ 3, R1 = 2P − L, S1 = 2P − H, R2 = P + (H − L), S2 = P − (H − L)

    Fibonacci: P as Standard, levels at P ± 0.382, 0.618 and 1.000 × (H − L)

    Woodie: P = (H + L + 2C) ÷ 4, then the Standard levels

    Camarilla: levels at C ± (H − L) × 1.1 ÷ 12, ÷ 6 and ÷ 4

    Worked example

    Yesterday’s high 4,180, low 4,140, close 4,170.

    Standard pivot: (4,180 + 4,140 + 4,170) ÷ 3 = 4,163.33.

    R1 = 2 × 4,163.33 − 4,140 = 4,186.67. S1 = 2 × 4,163.33 − 4,180 = 4,146.67.

    Good to know

    • Gold trades nearly 24 hours, so the "previous day" depends on where your platform closes its daily candle. Use the same daily close your chart uses.
    • Pivots are reference levels, not signals. They are most useful where they line up with levels the chart already shows.
