    How to use it

    1. Choose long or short.
    2. Enter the entry, stop loss and take profit prices.
    3. Enter your lot size to see the risk and reward in dollars.
    4. Compare the break-even win rate with how often setups like this actually work for you.

    The formula

    R:R = |target − entry| ÷ |entry − stop|

    Dollars = price distance × 100 × lots

    Break-even win rate = 1 ÷ (1 + R:R)

    Worked example

    Long at 4,150.00, stop at 4,135.00, target at 4,180.00: risk is $15 and reward is $30, so R:R is 1:2.

    At 1 lot that is $1,500 at risk for a $3,000 target.

    Break-even win rate is 1 ÷ (1 + 2) = 33.3%. Winning more than one trade in three is profitable before costs.

    Good to know

    • A high ratio is not automatically better. A distant target is hit less often, so the real test is the ratio together with your win rate.
    • Costs move the break-even point up. Add the spread to the risk side for a more honest number.
